Merrily's Bio

Merrily the Clown has won several awards, most recently at the 2011 Mid Atlantic Clown Association Convention, where clowns from the 9 Mid Atlantic States come to compete as well as to learn, and grow to become better clowns. Trophies in 2011 include a 1st place for Multiple Balloon Sculpture, 2nd place for Full Face Painting, 2nd Place for Single Balloon Sculpting, 3rd Place for Cheek Art and 3rd in Skit Competition. At the 2010 convention, she was presented with trophies, including 1st place for full face painting, 2nd place for multiple balloons, and 3rd place for single balloon, for cheek art, and skit.

Merrily is formerly of Vancouver, WA and now makes her home in Pennsylvania. She has been clowning for over 15 years keeping very busy at various events throughout the Pacific Northwest and the East Coast of the United States. She has even performed once on a cruise ship.

Merrily has taken the art of face painting to an exciting level by incorporating abstract art as part of her designs, making her a favorite at the Clark County Fair, and various festivals, fairs and corporate events as well as schools, libraries, senior centers, restaurants, birthday parties and every event imaginable.

In addition to her strolling comedy act, Merrily also performs on stage in vaudeville revues. Most recently she has appeared at the Silverton Follies in Silverton, Oregon, the Bend Centennials Celebration Vaudeville show in Bend, Oregon and The Greatest Clown Show On Earth in Whidbey Island, Washington. She also does library shows, school shows and Comedy Magic shows for any event.

Merrily has been part of the staff of the Comedifest for six years. She served in several capacities from Public Relations in 2003, to assistant director in 2004 & 2005, and the director of the Comedifest 2006. She returned to the Comedifest in 2007 and 2011 as an instructor and was awarded the 2007 Comedifest "Clown with Passion" award by the staff for her years of dedication and unselfish willingness to help in whatever capacity she was needed. Merrily has also served as an instructor at other conventions and events.
